And when it comes time to find out everything possible about the home you have decided to purchase, you will feel much better knowing your EBA will fully represent you with no conflict of interest. Ask for our free CD, or schedule a no obligation appointment, to learn about costly mistakes that you need not make.

An EBA can help you find and purchase any house or condo, land, or any other real estate properties on the market. The mls listings are only a portion of the homes you will see. Learn about the rest of the available properties in our system, such as bank owned, foreclosures, distressed properties and for sale by owners. When teaming up with an EBA you will find service exceeding your expectations. You will enjoy many home purchasing tips, local information, recreation, loans, current market conditions, how to get good deals, find the best and avoid the worst neighborhoods. And most importantly, you can count on us NOT steering you to any property, because we do not list homes for sale. If you need help finding one of the best real estate representatives around, email us now.
With the gold rush pioneers came the need for lumber to build piers, shingles and buildings. By 1849 the huge trees in the hills near present day Woodside and Portola Valley started providing lumber year round. A local creek provided semi-deep water shipping out of the south bay. Logs and lumber were hauled by horse and mule trains to about where the intersection of Middlefield and Broadway are located in our community today. Lumber ships took the wood down the creek and up the bay to where it was needed in places like San Francisco and Sacramento. Today our port is the only deepwater port in the south San Francisco Bay providing access for dry and liquid bulk, as well as outstanding recreational opportunities.
By 1856, the community became the county seat of San Mateo County eleven years before it was officially incorporated. There are some historical homes that may be of interest to history buffs: One is the Lathrop House, a mansion built in 1863, now a post-Civil War museum on Hamilton Street. Another is the Filoli home built in the early 1900's located on Canada Road. It is a 654 acre property with magnificent gardens that have rare trees, plants and flowers. It is open to tourists part of the year. Links: <http://www.museumsusa.org/data/museums/ca/12645.htm> and <http://www.filoli.org> (continued page 2)
