Park was incorporated in 1927. During World War II Dibble General Hospital
was established to care for injured soldiers. The land on which the hospital
once stood is now the site of the city's civic center.
The city has 12 open space areas and 2 community centers. The open space
offers hiking trails, sports fields, tennis courts, playgrounds, and a
pool and gymnasium. Onetta Harris Community Center offers a gymnasium,
a swimming pool and a variety of rooms for various uses. The community
has a well-developed gymnastics program that has been in existence since
1962 and serves males and females ages 1 through adult.
